Two powerful tools: accountability & community.


Accountability– the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility

Community- a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing a common attitudes, interests and goals.

Accountability, we all need it!  We need it for any goal that we set for ourselves, whether nutrition and fitness related or not.  We need accountability and we need each other to help us reach our goals.  The great thing about helping others with their accountability is that in turn you are helping yourself with your own accountability.  Sounds like a winning situation for everyone!  It is also important to surround yourself with like-minded individuals, your community.  If you have goals that involve losing weight and getting to the gym you don’t want your main group of friends to be people who are hitting up happy hour every night.  It just won’t work and you won’t reach your goals.

Many of us set goals and seek results with our nutrition and fitness but find ourselves falling off the wagon or giving up after a few months.  Life gets in the way, our community is not supportive and/or we lack accountability.  Slowly our nutrition and fitness falls to the wayside, especially if we are not seeing the results we want fast enough.

Accountability and community are powerful tools.

Tell others about your long and short term goals.  When you share your goals with your friends, family and/or community you are more likely to hold yourself accountable.

Create a plan.  If you have a plan you are more likely to be accountable and are more likely to succeed.  Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Remind yourself daily of your long and short term goals.  Post them on your bathroom mirror or as your wallpaper on your computer.  The more you remind yourself of your goals the more likely you will hold yourself accountable and reach your goals.

A great way to ensure success is by having a person or group of people hold you accountable.  The right community can make all the difference in success or failure when reaching your goals.

Find your community and accountability and you will reach your goals!
