It is time, time for me to complete The 21 Day Sugar Detox. It has been awhile since I completed a 21 Day Sugar Detox and honestly, I hadn’t felt the need. I live a healthy, clean-eating lifestyle most of the time, but lately I have noticed my sugar cravings increasing. I am not to the point where I crave sugar all day every day, but I know how the cycle works. The more sugar I eat the more I want. It is time for another round of The 21 Day Sugar Detox. Are you curious, or wondering if you need to detox from sugar too?
In several blog posts, I discussed the negative affects sugar can have on you, which include short and long-term health issues. You are most likely consuming more sugar than you are even aware of as sugar can be very sneaky. Here are a couple questions to ask yourself to determine if the 21 Day Sugar Detox program is the right program for you:
- Do you crave sugar all day, every day or even just a few days a week?
- Do you crave carbohydrates, such as bread, rice, pasta, cereal, baked goods, etc.?
- Do you have something sweet with every meal or snack?
- Does your energy spike up and down throughout the day?
- Are you often tired upon waking in the morning?
- Do you consume alcoholic beverages daily or even several times per week?
- Do you want to lose body fat?
- Have you been eating a low-fat, whole grain diet and not getting results?
- Are you frequently hungry and eating every 2 to 3 hours?
- Do you eat a clean diet but still find yourself craving carbs and sugar?
Did you find yourself answering yes to more than one of these questions? After I answered the above questions, which are from The 21 Day Sugar Detox Guide Book, I knew it was time for me to do The 21 Day Sugar Detox again. The last time I did it I was able to clean myself of my chocolate covered raisin and plantain chip addiction, and when I say addiction I mean I would buy both in bulk at the grocery store every week! I remember 100% dark chocolate tasting sweet after completing The 21 Day Sugar Detox. I also stopped getting hangry after completing the detox. I felt amazing after doing the sugar detox and now I am wondering why I haven’t done one in a while. I keep finding excuses, for instance, an event where alcohol will be served, or we have a zillion birthdays to celebrate, or some other excuse. No more excuses, it is time. Like I mentioned above, I don’t crave sugar all day everyday but definitely a couple times per week. I also have been craving carbohydrates lately. I usually don’t eat many packaged foods, if any, but lately bread, chips, and crackers have been calling my name. If I am not having something sweet with my meal I usually end up grabbing a sweet snack shortly thereafter. During the summer months, I have also been consuming more alcohol than I care to admit. I also wouldn’t mind losing a little body fat too.
There is no magic pill or crazy gimmicks with this program just real, whole foods. Are you ready to join me for The 21 Day Sugar Detox? Remember if you answered yes to more than one of the questions above you could use a break from sugar. In the 21 days you will break the cycle of sugar addiction, feel amazing, have increased energy, and learn about real, whole food nutrition. Stop making excuses and join me. I will be documenting and sharing my journey and will support you through your journey.
