DSC_9097My name is Jamey.  I have always been your average girl, looking for more and trying to figure out what my purpose in life is.  Through all of the searching I finally realized that my passion for all things health and fitness is where I could do what so many people want to do; change people’s lives.  I have always loved all things health and fitness but never thought that I could make a career out of it.

After attending college at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare I moved to Orlando, Florida and attended the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI).  After which I became a personal trainer and nutrition consultant.  For several years I worked as a personal trainer, a large and small group exercise instructor and a nutrition consultant.  I lived and worked in Florida for several years and eventually life lead me to beautiful Colorado, where my husband and I enjoyed hiking and camping.  6 years and two kids later we can now be found in Hudson, Wisconsin.  Even when not working directly in the health and fitness industry I was always continuing to learn and gain knowledge, even taking human anatomy and physiology classes at the local community college.

So howDSC_8887 did I finally realize that I could change people’s lives with my passion and knowledge for health and fitness?  For 5 years I was a CrossFit enthusiast, ate Paleo and was part of an amazing community.  I did CrossFit through two pregnancies 5 to 6 days a week.  It was in 2014 after my second son was born that life got a little more complicated and a lot busier.  I decided to make a change to my workout routine.  A friend had reached out to me about a program called The 21 Day Fix, a Beachbody program.  I was skeptical about doing workouts in my living room but that was really my only option at the time.  I was a mom of two boys, a homemaker, worked part-time outside of the house but still wanted to keep my health a priority.  The results from this program blew me away.  My body transformed, I lost all of the weight that I had gained during both of my pregnancies and felt amazing.  I began thinking…I wanted to be able to help other busy women make themselves a priority and create healthy lifestyles.  I started researching nutrition programs and came across the Nutritonal Therapy Association.  I enrolled in the program and started my journey of becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. 

I have for the most part always been conscious about my nutrition and fitness, which is why I attended NPTI and NTA.  Ok, there may have been a few years in college where I enjoyed a few too many beers and late night pizzas but we will call that a learning experience of what does not do the body well.  I spent years thinking it was normal to feel tired, exhausted and run down.  I have tried many different diets, finally figuring out what is best for my body, which is constantly changing and is not what is best for everybody.  We are all different and have different needs, bioindividuality.  What does matter is eating properly prepared, nutrient dense foods in the right amount to fuel your body.  With the combination of Nutrition, Fitness and Coaching I realized I could change people’s lives, especially busy woman, just like me!  In April of 2015 I started my own nutrition and fitness consulting business.  In 2016 I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.  I have continued to further my education and completed the Balanced Bites Master Class Practitioners course.  In 2017 I became a Certified 21 Day Sugar Detox Coach. Life is busy but I am still a priority and my family and I live a healthy lifestyle.  I can help you do the same!
